Judge William Webb Appointed to North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission

Judge William A Webb

RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Martin has appointed Judge William A. Webb, Senior Advisor to Shanahan Law Group, to the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission. Judge Webb will serve a three year term on the Commission. “I am honored by the confidence the chief justice has shown in me by appointing me to the Commission,” said Webb. “As a judge, I learned the value of alternative dispute resolution to the court system. As a member of the commission, I will be able to continue to keep North Carolina at the forefront of ADR.”

Established in 1995, the Dispute Resolution Commission concentrates primarily on certifying and regulating private mediators who serve the courts of North Carolina. In addition to these duties, the Commission recommends dispute resolution policy, rules, and revisions; provides support to court-based mediation programs; certifies mediation training programs, and assists other State agencies with providing dispute resolution services to their communities. The successful work of mediators appointed by the Commission benefits disputing parties, North Carolina courts, and taxpayers alike.

In his role as a Senior Advisor to Shanahan Law Group, Judge Webb concentrates his work on employment issues and helps shape and review litigation strategy for the firm. Webb is also certified as a federal mediator in all three federal districts in North Carolina and is a certified North Carolina superior court mediator.
