Shanahan Law Group, PLLC Associate Jeffrey M. Kelly has been inducted into the North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society’s 2019 Cohort. The North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society celebrates attorneys who report at least 50 hours of pro bono legal service in a calendar year.

The North Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct encourage North Carolina attorneys to provide at least fifty hours of pro bono legal services each year to those who are unable to pay. North Carolina attorneys who provide services under North Carolina Pro Bono Practice Status who report at least 50 hours of pro bono legal service in a year will be inducted into that year’s cohort of the North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society. Inductees receive a certificate from the Supreme Court of North Carolina recognizing their valuable contributions to the people of North Carolina. Jeffrey M. Kelly is the Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Future of Law Committee, which is responsible for exploring the impact of emerging technology on the practice of law, and he is involved in several projects that increase access to legal services. He is also a Council Member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Antitrust & Complex Business Disputes Law Section and its Appellate Practice Section. Kelly’s legal practice is concentrated in areas of complex business litigation, internal investigations, and outside corporate counsel services, including corporate and securities litigation, trade secret and intellectual property protection, data security, and unfair trade practices.
