Partners Branch, Powell Elected to 2018 Legal Elite

Raleigh, N.C. – Shanahan Law Group, PLLC is pleased to congratulate two of the firm’s partners, John Branch and Tonya Powell, on their selection to Business NC’s 2018 Legal Elite. Branch has been selected for the Litigation category and Powell the Real Estate category. Business North Carolina magazine makes Legal Elite selections via statewide ballot using votes from other attorneys. This peer based honor is given to fewer than 3% of the state’s lawyers.

John Branch’s practice focuses on business litigation, business, and employment law. He represents clients in complex business matters and both counsels and advocates for clients in all aspects of employment law, including preparation of complicated employment, separation, and non-compete agreements for both businesses and executives, preparation of internal corporate employment documents, and representation in disputes involving federal, state, and local employment statutes and regulations.

Tonya Powell concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial real estate, banking and finance and general corporate law. In addition to more than fifteen years of commercial real estate and lender representation experience, Tonya has worked as in-house corporate counsel where she gained valuable experience in the formation, restructure and operation of limited liability companies, including complex joint venture entities created for ownership and development of real estate projects, as well as working closely with lenders on complex debt restructures and workouts. She is a board-certified specialist in commercial real property law: business, commercial and industrial transactions.
