Kieran & Tina Shanahan Host Inaugural Blue Ribbon Gathering to Benefit Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina

RALEIGH, N.C. – Former Raleigh City Councilman Kieran Shanahan and his wife, Tina Alvarado Shanahan, recently hosted the inaugural Blue Ribbon Gathering benefitting Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina. The fundraiser, which was held at the Shanahans’ home in North Raleigh, was the first of many such gatherings planned throughout the state.

“Tina and I were pleased to host this event in our home,” says Kieran Shanahan. “Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina is a top-notch organization working for a very worthy cause, and we believe it is important to support their efforts. We encourage our friends and colleagues to join us in this important effort.”

“Community involvement is what makes prevention possible. We are so grateful that Kieran has shown leadership in making new friends and raising resources to make North Carolina a better place for children and families,” said Rosie Allen, President/CEO of Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina.

Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina is the only statewide nonprofit in North Carolina dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect in all forms. Through evidence-based family strengthening programs, public and professional education, and advocacy, we work to ensure that every child has a healthy childhood and the opportunity to grow up to be a caring, contributing adult.
