Steven McCallister of Shanahan Law Group named to Women’s Center of Wake County’s Board of Directors

RALEIGH, NC – Steven McCallister, an attorney with Shanahan Law Group in Raleigh, has been named to the Board of Directors of the Women’s Center of Wake County. The Women’s Center provides a wide range of services for low-income and homeless women and children.

“It is an honor to serve on the Board of the Wake County Women’s Center,” said McCallister. “The center is Wake County’s only day shelter for women and children, and it provides vital housing and support services to homeless and impoverished women and children. It is inexcusable that women and children are forced to live on our streets. I look forward to contributing to this wonderful group and to helping serve the needs of Wake County’s most vulnerable citizens.”

“We fully support Steven’s involvement with the Women’s Center of Wake County,” said Kieran Shanahan, the firm’s principal. “We strongly encourage all of our attorneys and staff to get involved and work to make their community a better place.”

The Women’s Center of Wake County was founded in 1977 as a grassroots movement to meet the needs of women re-entering the community from prison. Over the past 12 years the center has increased its focus on addressing the growing issue of homelessness for women with children and single women.
